Britney Spears allegedly checks in and out of rehab

One of the quickest trips to rehab in the history of addiction, rumors have circulated that Britney Spears finally checked into rehab to get some help, but checked out less than 24 hours later. Extra first broke the news that Britney Spears entered a rehab facility two days ago and TMZ added that wherever the "Toxic" singer was detoxing it was out of the country. Well, Spears refused to stay, according to TMZ, and People magazine confirmed that Britney was at the rehab center, Eric Clapton’s Crossroads in Antigua.
So, what happened to Britney Spears at the Crossroads? Well, TMZ reports that Britney checked in only because of the urging of friends and family because she had been intoxicated in public places and that she was so exhausted on New Year’s Eve that she collapsed. There were various reports that Britney had been chugging champagne that evening at a Las Vegas nightclub, but Spears claimed that she was just exhausted.
No one’s quite sure why Britney Spears is already out of Crossroads and headed back to Los Angeles (and very few people have pointed out the irony of the fact that she starred in a movie of the same name in 2002.) Was it the quickest rehab in history or did she not like the location or is it possible she was never there at all? The last time anyone actually saw Britney Spears, according to Us Weekly, she was seen leaving New York City on a private jet and heading to Miami. She checked into the Four Seasons Hotel in the Florida city around midnight on Monday with 17 month-old Sean Preston and 5 month-old Jayden James for a week of work with a possible side trip to rehab. A source told Us, "The hotel was full so we put Britney and the children in a two bedroom condo hotel room, which is very residential and like a big city apartment."
Eric Clapton actually says on the clinic’s website, "We believe that the majority of individuals suffering from addiction have the capacity for recovery if given the proper foundation to begin their journey. At Crossroads we help provide that foundation."
Britney Spears has become a fixture on the club scene in Los Angeles, New York, and Las Vegas, since she filed for divorce from Kevin Federline last November. Since K-Fed and Spears split, Britney has been in the tabloid headlines almost every day, whether it’s her constant habit of forgetting to wear panties, popping up on stage at strip clubs, or passing out at parties. Spears claimed last month that it’s the media "exaggerating my every move."
Hollywood.com’s That Other Blog heard from Britney Spears‘ former assistant Felicia Culotta, who claimed "WE (as in her family and nearest and dearest - ALL of whom are not on the payroll anymore!!) are doing EVERYTHING in our power to get help for Britney."
E! Online reports that, last week, while Justin Timberlake and Christina Aguilera, former peers of Spears, were performing at the Grammys, a place where Britney used to be (she even won one), she was in the back of a limousine, side stepping a puddle of vomit. Even Kevin Federline seems to have a better public reputation than Britney Spears. E! reports that the already famous commercial with K-Fed that aired on the Super Bowl, happened after Britney Spears lobbied unsuccessfully to have a similar spot of her own. Just a few years ago, Britney Spears appearing in a commercial made headlines and now she’s having difficulty getting a spot for Nationwide Mutual Insurance.
