Did Britney Spears ex hubby to be Kevin Federline just score the best of the Super Bowl commercials?  He may have, at least by a human.  This year’s Super Bowl ads left a lot to be desired.  The highly anticipated ‘Go Daddy’ spot even disappointed and it is definitely time to find a new Go Daddy girl.

The Associated press gives K-Fed the thumbs up saying that his spot was the ‘best use of a celebrity:’  Kevin Federline poked fun at his own downfall from fame and sputtering rap career with a spot for Nationwide Insurance showing him dreaming about being a big-time rapper. A shout of "Fries, Federline!" from his manager brings him back to reality, as an employee in a fast-food joint.

Fast food workers complained when the spot leaked out, and Federline apologized though I’m still not sure why.  I was shocked - the spot worked well and wins the night for humans.

The only other ad that was close really wasn’t an ad at all - just a promo.  It featured one-time bitter rivals Oprah and Dave.  AP calls it a surprise and notes that the commercial was a promotion for the "Late Show with David Letterman" and showed the veteran late-night host munching chips on the couch, only to be reprimanded for talking with his mouth full by none other than Oprah Winfrey.  Oprah had her Bears jersey on - Dave the Colts.

Other ads that were flat out awful.  The Snickers ad having two guys kiss, then rip out their chest hair.  Ugh. The GM ad where a robot in a GM assembly plant drops a screw. As a result, he’s fired. He tries to make do with menial jobs, but he remains miserable. In the end, he jumps off a bridge to ‘kill’ himself.  But it was all a dream - too bad the commercial was played while I was awake.
