While the outstanding film ‘The Departed’ was cleaning up on Sunday night at the Academy Awards in Los Angeles, Jack Nicholson was clean as well - as in clean shaven.  The star actor was sporting a bald dome and many people were convinced he went bald to support Britney Spears.  While that’s a cute thought something tells me that Jack’s answer would be unprintable if he was asked that particular question.

Even the Associated Press wire story mentions it.  Is Jack Nicholson playing Lex Luthor in the next "Superman" movie? Maybe he’ll be Daddy Warbucks in a remake of "Annie." Or perhaps he’s going to the same hairstylist as Britney Spears?

As host Ellen DeGeneres walked onto the stage at the beginning of Sunday’s Oscars, the camera found its way to an applauding Nicholson, who appeared wearing his signature sunglasses and sporting a very non-signature shaved head, the wires service noted in a report.

Turns out the extreme haircut was just devotion to his new role that he is working on.  Fancy that - the world does not revolve around Britney.  Nicholson and co-star Morgan Freeman are filming director Rob Reiner’s film "The Bucket List," a buddy comedy/drama about two terminally ill men who flee a cancer ward to complete a list of things they want to do before they die. It is scheduled for release in November.

For the record, Britney is still bald, and still in rehab.
