A screaming match with her ex Kevin Federline left Spears reeling - and, after a public breakdown, running for rehab, The New York Daily News reports.

Her manager Larry Rudolph confirmed: "Britney Spears has voluntarily checked herself into a rehab facility. We ask that the media respect her privacy as well as those of her family and friends at this time."

Rudolph did not disclose what Britney was being treated for.

Britney’s treatment is said to involve an immediate detox with 24-hour supervision, followed by intense therapy sessions. 

US reports claim the ‘Toxic’ singer has allegedly taken cocaine, ecstasy and prescription drugs.

According to OK! magazine, "Kevin threatened Britney that he was going to have people test her hair to find out exactly what she’s been up to. She was so scared. That was what made her have her head shaved."

Britney’s decision to seek help follows a wild weekend where she shaved her head, got two new tattoos and was seen partying while wearing different wigs.
